WELCOME TO INSPIRED ME 411!
LET THE RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY BEGIN!!!!

My name is Kelly Roberts of K. Simone Designs (more about me here) and I am excited to present my NEW blog, Inspired Me 411.  Earlier this year, I started working on this site and it feels so good to finally be able to present it to you. Check out the facts below.

BLOG FACTS

WHAT: Inspired Me 411 is a free directory of arts and crafts resources. This blog is a personal collection of information I have come across and/or used in my creative journey. It is organized with lists in the following categories: General Crafts, Papercrafts, Art & Art Journaling, Fiber Arts, Mind & Body, and Organizations & Events. More websites will be added over time. Also, there will be blog posts featuring interesting articles, tools and people.

WHO:This site is for new and experienced makers who would like to find more resources for their crafts.

WHEN: Starting TODAY!

WHERE: Right here!

WHY: In 2020, I started this new blog to provide information and inspiration for those looking for arts and crafts resources. I remember when I first got started in 2006. I was looking for a craft to try while I was dealing with grief and depression. Once, I decided to make greeting cards, I didn't find many resources. Then, I came across a great papercrafting website (formally Two Peas in a Bucket). This one resource made a big difference in my development. I learned more about my passion, met new friends, personally grew and just had a fun time. After seeing how great information helped grow my creativity, I wanted to create a directory to help others like I was helped.

So this year, I decided to collect most of the websites, classes and events that I've experienced and share them with you here at Inspired Me 411.

Come on in y'all, explore, and look around. I hope you find something that inspires you!
Subscribe so you can stay up to date with everything.
Blessing!

My First Diary and 3 Journaling Styles

Welcome! Today's post is about my experience with journaling and three of my favorite styles.  This post was written May 21, 2020. Journaling has been a part of my life since my pre-teen years. Like most girls, I kept a diary and hid it in a secret place. I think I got my first one as a gift and wrote about daily and special events. I remember there was this cute boy I met. I was too shy to tell anyone I liked him so I wrote about it in my diary. It was a safe place to share these new and wonderful feelings. I gotta find that journal and check it out. (Off to go find it!) Look, I found my precious little diary! Although it smells dusty and the paper has yellowed, my young words and thoughts are so sweet! Here is what I wrote May 21st. I was on a school trip to a camp called Rawhide when I was in the 6th grade, I think. "Today at Rawride and my horses name was Chinadoll. Elizabeth was so mean to sha-jauna and them. And she was flirting." LOL! This is so fu...

New Art Collection & Video

Today, I am thrilled to share with you my new art collection called "Inspired Blooms." These 16 painting were made this year, 2024. Last April, we attended a fantastic floral exhibit at South Coast Plaza Mall and I was so inspired. Shortly after this show, I sat down at my art table and starting creating my floral joys.  In this video you will see the Inspired Garden Girls, a portrait and 12 floral arrangements. Check out the video.  Video Link Here Painting these flowers these last four months has filled my heart with such comfort and joy. I hope these happy "Inspired Blooms" bring a smile to your face and peace to your heart like I experienced. Feel free to share this video with a friend, too. Let's spread the flower power! :)

V.P. Kamala Harris & Crocheting

" The new vice president is a crocheter." I was so happily surprised to discover this article in the Washington Post about U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris' craft skills. The title of this story is called, "Vice President Harris is Making Her Mark on the Washington-Area Crochet Scene" by Jura Koncius. Article Link HERE I enjoyed reading this article and seeing the craft community get some well deserved national attention. Take a look at this story and see what you think. If you need some knitting or crochet resources, check our my "Fiber Arts" page here on Inspired Me 411. HERE     Crafts have been a relaxing activity for me and I hope the Vice President inspires others to give this craft a try. Be inspired!
