Mental Health Awareness & NEW Art Video

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! In celebration of this cause, I dedicated my NEW "Story Time With..." YouTube video to this month's awareness.  "Field of Rest" is the art featured in this story and it tells my self care journey of rest and renewal. #permissiontorest

In 2016,  I painted "Field of Rest." It is one of my favorite art pieces and was so fun to paint. I love seeing the process pictures of how the art came about. I hope you will watch this video and share it with your loved ones. Check it out!

Also, this art is NOW available in my shop. I would love for you to have this in your home to remind you to rest and take care of yourself.

Mental health awareness is so personal for me. I have lived with various degrees of depression and anxiety over the years. Many resources have helped me and I am on a mission to help others with my experiences and art.

Here on Inspired Me 411, I have lots of helpful craft resources as well as mental health information. I hope you will find something inspiring for you and your family. Check out these two pages!
Also, for more information on Mental Health Awareness Month, see National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Link HERE

The pandemic has taken a toll on all of us in different ways and I will encourage you to be aware of your mental health needs. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you were inspired! Take care!

Welcome! Today's post is about my experience with journaling and three of my favorite styles.  This post was written May 21, 2020. Journaling has been a part of my life since my pre-teen years. Like most girls, I kept a diary and hid it in a secret place. I think I got my first one as a gift and wrote about daily and special events. I remember there was this cute boy I met. I was too shy to tell anyone I liked him so I wrote about it in my diary. It was a safe place to share these new and wonderful feelings. I gotta find that journal and check it out. (Off to go find it!) Look, I found my precious little diary! Although it smells dusty and the paper has yellowed, my young words and thoughts are so sweet! Here is what I wrote May 21st. I was on a school trip to a camp called Rawhide when I was in the 6th grade, I think. "Today at Rawride and my horses name was Chinadoll. Elizabeth was so mean to sha-jauna and them. And she was flirting." LOL! This is so fu...
