Puzzle Fever

Do you like to play with jigsaw puzzles? I love them! I know many people did puzzles during the pandemic to relax while at home. In fact on Facebook, Oprah Winfrey posted about playing a puzzle with partner Stedman Graham in the early days of quarantine May 2020.

Last Fall 2021, my grief and depression flared up. I needed to take a break from some of my regular creative activities and was looking for some alternatives. I remembered I got a puzzle  a while back as a gift and dived into it. Boy, this was perfect medicine!  It was a fun diversion to help take my mind off the things. I worked on it regularly and it melted the stress away as my mind focused on the pieces and how they fit together. I felt so accomplished when I finished it.

500 piece dramatic seascape puzzle

After having such a joyful experience, I went to Amazon to find and order more. Galison 500 piece puzzles are my favorites with their sweet little scenes. The pieces are firm and fit great together. Here is the link. Galison Puzzles

I use a hard 20x30 poster board from the dollar store since I don't have any space for a large puzzle. This works out great because I can move it around and put it on top of a tv tray.

Here are some of my favorite finished puzzles. Take a look!

Here is my first 1,000 piece puzzle. I wanted to give up a few times because it was taking too long. But then my husband said he knew I could do it. So I had to press on to prove him right. LOL!

I found that puzzles are great medicine for me. Give it a try if you haven't played in a while.

My First Diary and 3 Journaling Styles

Welcome! Today's post is about my experience with journaling and three of my favorite styles.  This post was written May 21, 2020. Journaling has been a part of my life since my pre-teen years. Like most girls, I kept a diary and hid it in a secret place. I think I got my first one as a gift and wrote about daily and special events. I remember there was this cute boy I met. I was too shy to tell anyone I liked him so I wrote about it in my diary. It was a safe place to share these new and wonderful feelings. I gotta find that journal and check it out. (Off to go find it!) Look, I found my precious little diary! Although it smells dusty and the paper has yellowed, my young words and thoughts are so sweet! Here is what I wrote May 21st. I was on a school trip to a camp called Rawhide when I was in the 6th grade, I think. "Today at Rawride and my horses name was Chinadoll. Elizabeth was so mean to sha-jauna and them. And she was flirting." LOL! This is so fu...
