NEW VIDEO- Watercolor Portrait Tutorial For Art Journaling

Last Summer, I started playing around with watercolor portraits in an art journaling style. I found it to be so soothing and relaxing.  The more faces I painted, the better they got. Normally, I paint with acrylic paints so trying watercolors was a challenge at first. But as I gave myself permission to just experiment and play it felt as rewarding as my acrylic paintings.

So, here is a video tutorial sharing my process. I hope you are inspired to give it a try or just enjoy watching me paint.

In this video, you will learn about:
  • Supplies
  • Skin Color
  • Facial Features & Hair
  • Blouse/Top
  • Background
  • Journaling
What is art journaling? It is a journal where you use paints, pens, pencils, inks, stamps, markers and/or any art supply to express you feelings and thoughts of the day with little or no writing. If you are new to art journaling, here are some resources I have collected over the years that might be helpful.  Art & Art Journaling Page

Some of my favorites from this page are:
Jane Davenport (Inks, Watercolors, Mixed Media)
Jessica Swift (Mixed Media Art Self- Care Courses)
Let's Get Messy (YouTube Channel- Mixed Media Fun and Easy Style)
Willowing Arts- Tamara Laporte (Watercolors, Inks, Colored Pencils, Mixed Media)

I hope you enjoy watching this video and checking out some of the art journaling resources. Take care and have a nice day.
