During this global pandemic, most of us are busy cooking, cleaning, home schooling, working and other tasks. We are all in need of some personal play time especially now, right?
When I am at my art table, I feel peaceful and that result has been good enough for me. But as I was doing some research, I discovered much, much more was happening in my body and mind. The research tells the benefits based on scientific, psychological, historical and personal accounts.
I am not a doctor, psychiatrist, therapist or scientist but I am a woman who has faced depression, anxiety and related conditions for years. When I started on my journey of wellness and self care, arts and crafts became one of my best remedies. It didn't heal all my problems but it has given me comfort, joy and a healthy escape. Also, it has given me a sense of accomplishment.
