Happy National Craft Month- March 2026

Happy National Craft Month!!! I love arts and crafts and so happy to see that March is dedicated to the art forms. Here at Inspired Me 411, I celebrate this occasion everyday. This site was created in honor of all the crafts that have brought me and many others joy and comfort over the years.

This month would be a good month to take your craft to the next level by learning something new. If you don't have a craft, start exploring some fun options. Also, subscribe to this site to keep up with all the resources and events I find.

I wasn't interested in arts and crafts most of my life but in 2006, I was having some challenges and this openned the door to a whole new world that has been my passion ever since. Read about my journey into arts and crafts HERE.

Tips for finding a craft you'll love

  1. Consider your lifestyle- If you are a homebody or an outdoorsy type , this will help you find a craft. For example, if you are like being outside try gardening, taking a class or exercise. If you are indoors, try art, papercrafts or fiber arts will feel nice.
  2. Visit a Craft Store- Walk around Michael's or Hobby Lobby and see if anything gets your attention. Explore and give it a try.
  3. Take A Class- There are virtual classes at places like Michael's and Eventbrite. Also, consider an in-person class at your local city or adult school.
  4. .Be Open and Flexible- Try a few things and see how you feel. Your instincts will guide you. Don't be afraid to drop a new craft and try something else. Also, your creative outlets might change depending on your internal needs. That's normal and ok.
  5.  Play and Have Fun- The point of having an on going craft is for joy, fun and stress relieve. If it doesn't feel fun. try something else.

Here are some articles about hobbies. I hope you find some helpful information.

Whatever you do, continue to enjoy your craft time. I love to paint with watercolor these days which is a newer craft for me. So I am celebrating March by trying some new products. Check out my art website and YouTube channel if you need inspiration. Take care and have a nice day.

My First Diary and 3 Journaling Styles

Welcome! Today's post is about my experience with journaling and three of my favorite styles.  This post was written May 21, 2020. Journaling has been a part of my life since my pre-teen years. Like most girls, I kept a diary and hid it in a secret place. I think I got my first one as a gift and wrote about daily and special events. I remember there was this cute boy I met. I was too shy to tell anyone I liked him so I wrote about it in my diary. It was a safe place to share these new and wonderful feelings. I gotta find that journal and check it out. (Off to go find it!) Look, I found my precious little diary! Although it smells dusty and the paper has yellowed, my young words and thoughts are so sweet! Here is what I wrote May 21st. I was on a school trip to a camp called Rawhide when I was in the 6th grade, I think. "Today at Rawride and my horses name was Chinadoll. Elizabeth was so mean to sha-jauna and them. And she was flirting." LOL! This is so fu...
