Our Business Celebrates It's 10th Anniversary- Join Us!

K. Simone Designs Turns 10!!! April 20, 2011, my husband Ron and I launched our greeting card business. Since we started, we have sold over 300 cards and donated over 80 cards to charitable events.  After years of selling our cards, we have also added my art to our collection. This is an exciting newer venture that we are thrilled about, too. (Our Art shop link is HERE.) In celebration of this anniversary, Ron and I created this fun YouTube video to share some of our favorite cards, inspired art and memorable stories from over the years. It was a joy reflecting on all the exciting moments and precious people who helped us. VIDEO LINK HERE One of the stories I shared in the video was about Gospel Music Artist Vickie Winans and how she encouraged us so much. Well, here is the blog post I wrote about the special mini album card I made for her in 2012. The thank you video she made has been lost but the sentiment of the moment is still special.  Her Story HERE Now for a look at mor...

V.P. Kamala Harris & Crocheting

" The new vice president is a crocheter." I was so happily surprised to discover this article in the Washington Post about U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris' craft skills. The title of this story is called, "Vice President Harris is Making Her Mark on the Washington-Area Crochet Scene" by Jura Koncius. Article Link HERE I enjoyed reading this article and seeing the craft community get some well deserved national attention. Take a look at this story and see what you think. If you need some knitting or crochet resources, check our my "Fiber Arts" page here on Inspired Me 411. HERE     Crafts have been a relaxing activity for me and I hope the Vice President inspires others to give this craft a try. Be inspired!

Free, Virtual Craft Classes

Do you love attending craft classes? I sure do! Recently, I have registered and attended lots of free, virtual craft classes. I knew about the classes at Michaels but was happily surprised to discover classes on Eventbrite and Meet Up. Michael's Eventbrite Meet Up Eventbrite offers lots of free, online events. Meet Up has lots of options, too. I am doing a weekly drawing class through Meet Up. These classes are a great way to expand your craft abilities and meet some other creative people. Thanks to Zoom and similar formats these classes also give us a way to see and connect with others in live video. But if you missed the class, most are recorded. Take a look at a few of them! These classes were at Michael's. Explosion Box with Paige Evans at Michael's She showed how to decorate this box for a birthday. So cute! NEW Video: My Husband Scrapbooks With Me

When I started creating YouTube videos last year, I thought about having my husband Ron join me on a tutorial. So I am happy to announce that he made his video debut in this NEW video called, "Husband Scrapbooks With Me." This was his first time scrapbooking! He was a little nervous but once we started filming he was a pro. He assisted me in making this popular layout that was featured in the gallery of  Scrapbook.com earlier this month. They featured it for a week! So, I thought it would be fun to show you all how I made it plus an easy design for my husband to learn from. Also, we chatted about our Christmas last year. I hope you stop and see how we did in our first video together!  VIDEO LINK HERE We had a good time making this video and layout together. Maybe he will come on another video this year. Fingers crossed! LOL! Have a great day and be inspired!
